Chad Fore is a Chicano writer whose work has appeared, or is forthcoming, in The Paris Review, Ninth Letter, The Hopkins Review, Mid-American Review, the minnesota review, Sierra Nevada Review, and The Pinch Literary Journal Online. He has been a finalist for the Iowa Review Award in fiction, Indiana Review Fiction Prize, Bellingham Review Tobias Wolff Fiction Award, and Hidden River Arts Hawk Mountain Short Story Collection Award. Earlier drafts of his novel, Macho in Canyon Country, have been selected as finalist for the Masters Review Excerpt Contest, Autumn House Press Fiction Prize, Gival Press Novel Award, and Leapfrog Press Fiction Prize. A portion of the novel is featured in the Summer 2026 issue of The Paris Review. His novella, Love Child, was a finalist for the Texas Review Press Clay Reynolds Novella Prize. His work centers on the rural Southern California community where his family has lived since they migrated from Mexico in the early 1900s. He worked as an investment banker before becoming a teacher.
